Betsy Rolland is a librarian who believes that the success of biomedical research collaborations rests on the ability of the collaborators to organize, share and access the information surrounding the collaboration. Data alone don’t tell the whole story. Collaborators need to know who their collaborators are and what they’re working on. Sharing ideas and proactively managing knowledge are what collaborations need to succeed.
Betsy is the project manager of the Asia Cohort Consortium Coordinating Center at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Washington’s Information School and is currently a doctoral student in Human Centered Design & Engineering at the UW, where she is a member of the Computer Supported Collaboration lab under the direction of Prof. Charlotte P. Lee. Her research focuses on the coordination and support of collaborative research.
The ideas expressed here are mine alone and do not reflect the views of my employer.
I am doing a paper on trends, training, resources, and studies in medical librarianship collaborations (for my medical librarianship class).
I want to include organizations, journals, blogs by librarians and medical professionals. I will definitely be including this blog but I was wondering if you could point me to any other good resources?
Thank You!
